Home versus centre exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation after coronary artery bypass grafting: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Home-based cardiac rehabilitation after bypass surgery remains uncertain in its effects on fitness and emotional well-being compared to clinic visits.
BACKGROUND: Exercise-based home-based cardiac rehabilitation (HBCR) is an alternative to exercise-based centre-based cardiac rehabilitation (CBCR) following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG); however, its effects on functional capacity, psychological outcomes, and health-related quality of life remain uncertain. Evidence for patient-reported and psychosocial outcomes remains limited and inconclusive, and no firm conclusions can be drawn.
