Lifestyle interventions for cardiometabolic health in women with polycystic ovary syndrome: a systematic review and network meta-analysis
Regular exercise at moderate-to-vigorous levels shows the most promising overlap in benefits for women with PCOS facing diabetes and heart disease risk.
BACKGROUND: Women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) face an elevated long-term risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, largely driven by clustered cardiometabolic abnormalities. An exercise dose of approximately 480-1012 METs·min/week was associated with the greatest overlap in predicted benefits across outcomes.
