Using electronic health records from Clalit Health Services (Israel's largest insurer), this large real-world cohort study found that GLP-1 RA use was associated with lower risks of dementia and Parkinson's disease compared to other antidiabetic medications in obese T2D patients. These findings have major public health implications given the broad prescribing of GLP-1 RAs and the epidemic of neurodegenerative disease.
